Join Us in Helping to Feed the Hungry in Our Oregon and Washington Communities!

 
For the entire month of November, Summit Mortgage Corporation will be collecting canned food to be donated to the Oregon Food Bank and Clark County Food Bank.

The Oregon and Clark County Food Banks are an essential part of helping combat hunger in our local communities. The Oregon Food Bank distributes food through a Statewide Network of 21 Regional Food Banks and approximately 970 partner agencies serving all of Oregon and Clark County, Washington. In an average month, an estimated 270,000 people are receiving food from a food pantry in the Network. The food bank distributes over 6 million pounds of food and 5 million meals a year.
 
Facts About Hunger in Oregon & Clark County

One in five people in Oregon and Clark County are food insecure (being without access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food).

The rate of food insecurity in Oregon is 16.1%.

About 644,000 Oregonians are food insecure, of those 223,480 are children.

There are 65,000 hungry individuals in Clark County.

About 72% of the people who receive food have incomes below the federal poverty level.

Of households utilizing food pantries, about 80% of them are able to meet their food needs for the month with the help of a pantry.

Shelf-stable milk (boxed almond, rice, coconut milks)
