If you’re looking for a great way to support breast cancer research and the communities of Oregon and SW Washington, look no further than the 23rd Annual Row for the Cure® at Vancouver Lake and new Weekend on the Water event. This fun-filled weekend is focused on raising money for Susan G. Komen of Oregon and SW Washington. The inaugural Weekend on the Water combines the traditional Row for the Cure regatta and a new Standup Paddleboard (SUP) event over the weekend of July 23rd. Learn more below.
Saturday – Standup Paddleboard (SUP) for the Cure
The SUP event takes place on July 23rd at the Willamette Sailing Club beginning at 7:30 a.m. The day includes three fun races, paddle boards to try out, happy hour beer, wine, live DJ, and lunch. Start a team, dress up in your best pink paddleboarding outfits, and raise money for a great cause.
Sunday – 23rd Annual Row for the Cure
Head to Vancouver Lake on Sunday, July 24th to watch or participate in sprint races for Olympic style racing shells, racing dragon boats, racing kayaks, and racing outrigger canoes, or recreational family style canoes and kayaks. Bring your own boat or rent one ahead of time through Alder Creek.
Row for the Cure was started in 1994 by Kathy Frederick and Station L Rowing Club. Over the years, Row for the Cure has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the men and women affected by breast cancer in Oregon and SW Washington.
