Portland Seafood & Wine Festival– February 2-3
If you’re looking for some of the best seafood and wine pairings that the west coast has to offer, look no further than the 13th Annual Portland Seafood & Wine Festival, held at the Oregon Convention Center. The festival features over 175 exhibitors and includes entertainment, fresh Oregon seafood and wine, craft beers, cider, and distilled spirits. Proceeds benefit the Oregon Chapter of the National MS Society.
Spokane International Film Festival – February 2-9
The Spokane International Film Festival, better known as SpIFF, is celebrating its 20th year. Cinephiles, and newcomers alike, are welcome to attend parties, screenings, and panels at SpIFF. This small and intimate festival offers selected world-class films that encourage the audience and filmmakers to engage in the art of cinema.
My Muddy Valentine – February 10
My Muddy Valentine is a fun (and muddy) Valentine’s Day celebration complete with a 5K obstacle course, food, drinks, bonfires, and more. A great event for couples, singles, and kids alike. My Muddy Valentine is a fun outdoor activity that celebrates love – of any variety!
Sweetheart Hangar Dance – February 10
Grab your sweetheart and step back in time at the Sweetheart Hangar Dance, held at Pearson Air Museum at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. This old-fashioned shindig features Big Band music from the VanPort Jazz Band, food, drinks, and much more. Period dress and Class A uniforms are encouraged – but not required. Proceeds benefit education and interpretive programs at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
Worst Day of the Year Ride – February 11
The Worst Day of the Year Ride celebrates the cold and wet weather that defines the Northwest during February. Get out and brave the elements for this fun bike ride. Tackle your course of choice and you’ll be greeted at the end of your ride by hot soup, beverages, and plenty of other fun surprises. Bring your best costume game – there are prizes to be won. Get the whole family involved! New this year is a fun 4-mile family ride.
Taste Spokane – February 16
The Wishing Star Foundation presents the 12th Annual Taste Spokane event. This glamorous evening includes live music, food and beverage from Spokane’s most acclaimed restaurants and wineries, a live auction, and much more. All proceeds go to benefit the Wishing Star Foundation, which helps grant wishes to local Spokane children battling life-threatening conditions.
Chinese New Year Celebration – February 16-March 4
Lan Su Chinese Gardens welcomes the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dog with a special two-week festival. The celebration is filled with fun event for the whole family, including lion dances, cultural performances, martial arts, calligraphy, crafts, lantern lightings, and more. Don’t miss the special Year of the Dog Fair, which benefits local non-profit animal rescues.
Zwickelmania – February 17 & 24
Craft beer lovers gather together for the annual Zwickelmania event. Oregon breweries will once again open their doors for special sampling and meet-the-brewer events. Zwickelmania is held on two separate Saturdays – one for Portland Metro area breweries on the 17th and one for the greater state of Oregon on the 24th.
Seaside Jazz Festival – February 22-25
Enjoy the sounds of a true American art form – jazz music – at the Seaside Jazz Festival. This special weekend is full of traditional and contemporary jazz performances at multiple venues around Seaside. Find the full schedule and list of performers, here.
Polar Plunge – February 24
Take part in a special fundraiser for Special Olympics Oregon and do the Polar Plunge! Last year over $415,000 was raised by “plungers” who braved the cold winter water. You can find a Plunge to participate in all across the state in the cities of Portland, Bend, Medford, Eugene, and Corvallis. The Portland event includes a 5K Fun Run and costume contest.
